Tips to Eliminate Waste

Along on my minimalist journey, I also started reducing my waste production. It comes naturally as you start simplifying your life. I am also terrorized when I see pictures of the ginormous floating trash continents in the middle of the ocean. There are containers, bottles, and trash everywhere, and it simply sucks. I try not to be annoying with that and do it for myself, but it's so frigthening and crazy how much waste we produce, that I told myself I would share a few tips to inspire a few more people to cut down on a few things. If I get one more person to reduce their trash production, I will be happy.

Disney Park Activities

What is there to do in a Disney park? A Disney resort is not just a theme park with rides. It's a well flushed out world where you can do many different things. One day is absolutely not enough to do everything. Disney resorts offer a wide array of activities from shows, interactive experiences, rides, spas, and pools, to dining, shopping, and learning. The overall environment and ambiance is perfectly aligned with the journey the theme park and resort offer. You will be able to flow from one thing to another rather easily without having to search or worry.

Scrapbookng Birthday and Greeting Cards — DIY

I love creating stuff with my own hands. A few years ago, I started using my scrapbook supplies to create birthday and greeting cards for friends, family, and colleagues. I quickly noticed that it was something they truly appreciated. I wanted to share some of the cards I created with you in case it inspires you for anything you wish to create in your life, even if it has nothing to do with scrapbooking or cards.

Disney Parks and Destinations

The Disney parks started in California, USA, very close to the Walt Disney Animation studios. In 1955, Walt Disney saw his dream of the happiest place on Earth for kids and families come true. Disneyland® opened in Anaheim. The seed was planted and people truly loved it. The parks are opened all year round, even during the Tokyo winter. So you can either go to the USA (California, Florida, and Hawaii), France, Japan, China, or Hong Kong and be in the happiest place on Earth: Disney. See this list of Disney destinations to find out your next vacation spot!

I'm a Disney Fan

Some people see these movies and stories are all about princes and princesses and give you false expectations. Well, I realized over time that it's really not what I saw. I saw people who would not take no for an answer and would go after their dreams. I really think they helped me being who I am today. I am a very happy person and I never stop learning new things, going after my dreams, travelling. These travels also take me to the Disney parks!!! I’ve become somewhat of a Disney nerd and I want to share my experiences and tips with you!

Learning How to Draw - Developing Focus and Attention Span

The underlying idea of this series is to help anyone who wants to learn how to draw, as well as develop focus and attention span. The idea of writing this series of drawing articles came from several observations of our current culture.

Natural Shampoo and Lemon Conditioner to Wash Your Hair

Chemical products and artificial fragrances are everywhere. We put those on our skin and eat them every day. Over time, this can cause harm and illness. This year, I’m switching any body care products to natural homemade products. I started this week with the natural shampoo and conditioner. I’m testing it out and so far it’s fabulous.

Minimalist Closet and KonMari Folding Technique

One day, I was making my suitcase and I was trying to fit way too much stuff in it. I researched minimalist packing techniques and found the KonMari folding technique. I decided to apply this at home and go rid of my entire bureau. All the clothes left from it fit in two small baskets. In this post, I show you how I fold and fit all my clothes.

Geography

When travelling, it’s a good thing to be familiar with geography. Geography is not only about naming countries and capitals. Understanding the climate, terrain, and other particularities of the region is very useful. Hemispheres, latitudes, longitudes, and time zones are also good to know.

Painting my Studio Space

I finally painted my hallway and studio space. I was putting it off for a full year now and I was not about to end 2016 without this hallway being painted. On top of it, I received my new gear to film better videos for this blog. All I needed was a decent space to shoot them.

Passion, Fun and Time to Create good Art

I went back through some of my drawings and gathered my portraits. The final product is a direct result of the amount of time and effort put in each piece. Each time I take the time to work on one drawing with passion and fun, the piece is so much better.

Travelling to get Inspired to Become Better: Colorado

I had a chance to travel around the world because of my job. Although, it may sound pretty glamorous, it was a hard job!! Don't be fooled... When you are on the road for work... you have to work and you don't go home at night to your own living room, you go back to a hotel and eat restaurant food for the 12th meal in a row..... but you get to visit the world, and sometime in pretty remote places.

Last summer, I had to go to a very small town in Colorado called Alamosa. I was not necessarily invaded with the same thrill as if I was going to Tokyo or Paris... but I was absolutely surprised and stunned by the scenery. It was one of the most beautiful place I have seen so far.

Winter has settled in and we are ready!

Winter came in early in 2014. Normally we are always wondering if we will get a white Christmas. Snow generally settles in around mid-December, but that year, it came in mid-November... We were ready for it! I was really proud the garden was ready and the leaves were covering it all. We were ready and we did not get caught by the early snow! That makes me really happy.

Becoming Better at Web Design and Web Programming

In 1996, I discovered HTML and creating fan websites. I made a ton of those. I spent hours and hours on a Walt Disney website, adding Under Constructions sections and blinking stuff. :) Netscape and Internet Explorer were at war and there were not standards. I did not know much about computers... but was it ever fun.

In 2006 or 2007, unrelated circumstances brought me back to web design. I would like to share with you some useful links I stumbled upon while digging the web for answers and resources. There is soooooooo much to learn that it can be a bit overwhelming to know where to start.

Knitting a Scarf

New project and new skill learning in progress: I am knitting a scarf!! Earlier this fall, a friend of my parents gave me a sewing machine and a bunch of accessories. In this box, there were a series of knitting needles. As the cold season settles in, I have more and more the incline to cocoon at home. These needles kept lurking at me from the corner of the room, so I bolted to the store and got myself some yarn.

Feeding Tit Mouse Birds

On this cold Sunday morning, my fiance and I fed the tit mouse birds at the Montreal's Botanical garden. We had a few sunflower and pumpkin seeds in our pockets and had a great time.

Preparing my Garden for Winter and Next Spring

An invaluable skill to acquire is gardening. I'm learning to grow my own food and deal with Quebec winter. November is the month to shut down the garden and prepare everything for the next year.
