Increasing my Health to Travel Further

Français

I'm planning to go to Morocco and in the desert. As I get older, I'm slowly getting out of shape. I'm far away from being overweight, but if I don't monitor it, I can see that I'll quickly reach that point. So it's time to quit being a baby and stick to these good habits that I keep conveniently forgetting about.

I love yoga. I really do, but somehow laziness always wins me over. Well that's not how I'll get where I want to be!

I love eating healthy. When I eat crappy, my body doesn't feel good. I consider myself lucky to be heavily intolerant to all dairy. This way any cheese, ice cream, and pastry are automatically off limit.

There's no magic trick or magic pill, regardless how much you want to believe it. So I won't be seduced by the dark side, and I'll turn these good habits into natural habits!

How? I'll do it with daily rituals, vision board, chunked steps, and inspiring grocery shopping.

Today is the first day of a 14-day project. I wrote down my ideal schedule, rituals, and habits. I am 124.5 pounds and I want to be 119. My ideal weight is 118, so that would be even better. I want the bloating to be gone. I want to run through my daily thirty-minute yoga session with ease. I have reminders to drink water and I make myself awesome lunches. There's no eating between meals.

Every day starts with a yoga, a meditation, a visualization, and a self-help book reading.

At work, I make sure to drink my water, calmly go through my tasks and eliminate the procrastination. I take a full lunch hour away from the computer. Finally, I work through my afternoon the same way as the morning and I leave around 5pm. I really try to avoid staying passed 5 as I am an ex-workaholic... :) I put myself through an email detox last January. It was brutal (well for a few days)! My life coach and the 4-hour Workweek book from Tim Ferriss helped me through that.

On my way home, I blog! This comes very naturally to me. :) I have a 1-hour metro and bus ride. I really take advantage of this for self-improvement and Aventurine Ticket content creation.

At night, the difficult part is doing the dishes and going to bed on time. I get really absorbed in what I'm doing and the rest goes out the window.

All the steps are important to maintain a good physical and mental health. Right now, I only committed to do it for fourteen days even though my intention is to always do it. If I think that I'll do something every day forever, I automatically want to self-sabotage the project. The idea is to build the habits and ingrain them. Once that's done, I can add some variety and flexibility. But right now, I am too much of a baby and I need some structure.

Inspiration and repetition is key for me. Each morning, I browse through my Pinterest vision board and add a few more pins. I go to TAU natural and organic grocery store to be inspired to buy awesome ingredients. I'm the salad queen! I'm also reading Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life. I also gave my word to my life coach and fiancé I would do this 14-days of awesome project.

...or this beautifully organized refrigerator!

That inspires me. What inspires you?  I promise I will go trek in the desert on a camel!

UPDATE: This project was a success and I am now at my fourth iteration. I weigh 118 pounds!

Who Am I? I'm many things. I'm passionate about tons of stuff. I love travel. I love self-improvement. I'm a sucker for optimization, efficiency, and minimalism. I renewed with mathematics and science, those are so amazing. Astronomy and chemistry are just plain awesome! I'm a student, a mentor, a traveler, a learner, an artist, an animator, and Disney brings me tears of joy! I love to grow and I will never stop! So who am I? All that and everything else I have not discovered about myself yet. It's a never ending answer!

Qui suis je? Je suis beaucoup de choses. Je suis passionné des tonnes de trucs. J'adore voyager.
